The Pros and Cons of Information Sharing

On November 10, The Swedish Competition Authority held a seminar on "The Pros and Cons of Information Sharing." This was the fifth year we arranged a "Pros and Cons" seminar. The aim of the seminar is to allow researchers and practitioners to meet and exchange ideas.

We had an audience of approximately 100 people from 23 countries, including a number of directors general of national European competition authorities and other senior staff. Representatives also attended from DG Competition in Brussels, as well as a number of PhDs employed by competition authorities in Europe and elsewhere, and academic economists.

Senior officials were invited to prepare brief comments on the talks.

The theme for next year's seminar is exploitative abuse and the application of Article 82 under the title "The Pros and Cons of High Prices". The seminar will be held in Stockholm on the 9th of November 2007. For more information on next year's seminar, please contact Niklas Strand, e-mail:
