An eventful year

The Swedish Competition Authority currently have just over 20 proceedings pending at court, more than ever in the agency's history.

The new powers of the Swedish Competition Authority to go to court seeking the imposition of fines for the illegal direct award of a contract has resulted in 15 applications to the administrative court in 2011.

The Competition Act rule prohibiting anti-competitive activities by public entities has resulted in three summonses. We are demanding that public stakeholders should be ordered to stop restricting competition for private stakeholders.
