Weighting and priorities
When using ‘the most economically advantageous tender’ as the principle for evaluation, the contracting authority must state either how the various evaluation criteria will be weighted or list them in descending order of importance. The weighting of criteria may be expressed as a range with an appropriate maximum spread. For example, if the criteria are ‘quality’ and ‘price’, the weighting may be set at 70 per cent and 30 per cent respectively.
If the weighting of the criteria is specified as a range, the range may be, for example, a spread between 60–70 per cent and 30–40 per cent respectively.
